> DAY 1: Palermo
Welcome to Sicily, the pearl of Southern Italy! At the Palermo Airport you will be met by your driver and transferred to your luxury hotel. Enjoy the afternoon and evening at your leisure discovering the city’s vibrant atmosphere. Ask your Leisure Travel Consultant for their favorite restaurants, cafes and entertainment spots.
> DAY 2: Palermo – Full Day Tour of Palermo and Monreale
After breakfast set off on a guided tour of Palermo and Monreale. In Palermo you will visit the Norman Palace with the Royal Apartments and the Palatine Chapel, the Church of St Giovanni degli Eremiti, and, of course, the Cathedral. In the afternoon, take a short drive up to Monreale and visit the great Norman Cathedral with its magnificent mosaics that have survived from the Middle Ages.
> DAY 3: Palermo – Full Day Tour of Segesta and Erice
Today head west and enjoy a full day tour of Segesta, a splendid but incomplete Greek Temple standing on its own on top a gently rolling hill, and Erice, a medieval town perched on top of an isolated limestone spurt, high above the sea.
> DAY 4: Palermo, Marsala, Selinunte, Agrigento
After breakfast depart for Agrigento. The route will take you first to explore the sea salt ponds near Trapani and then down the coast to Marsala, a sea side town well known for the sweet wine it produces. Enjoy a wine tasting and then continue on to Selinunte where you will have time to visit the archaeological park. In the late afternoon you will arrive at your luxury hotel in Agrigento and enjoy a leisurely evening.
> DAY 5: Agrigento, Syracuse
This morning take a guided tour of the remarkable Valley of Temples in Agrigento and then depart for Syracuse. En route you will stop at the Villa del Casale in Piazza Armerina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Built between the 2nd and 4th century, this lavish, ancient villa was once a retreat for a Roman Emperor and houses some of the most extensive and most beautiful mosaics! Arrive at your hotel in Syracuse in the late afternoon.
> DAY 6: Syracuse – Half Day Tour of Syracuse
After breakfast begin your half day guided tour of the city. Syracuse once rivaled Athens as the largest and most powerful city in the Greek world and today, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Sicily’s most popular destinations. Visit to the archaeological park, with the Latomia del Paradiso, the Greek Theatre, and the Roman Amphitheatre, and explore the Ortigia, with its Duomo built on the Temple of Athena. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure.
> DAY 7: Syracuse, Noto, Taormina
Today depart for Taormina. Along the way you will visit Noto, the most fascinating of the 18th century Baroque cities of Sicily, which was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1693. In the afternoon arrive in Taormina and spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing at your luxury hotel or exploring the town.
> DAY 8: Taormina – Half Day Tour of Mt Etna
In the morning set off on a half day excursions to Mt Etna, the highest volcano in Europe (3,350 Meters) and one of most memorable landscapes Italy has to offer. You can reach the 2,000-meter point by road and then a funicular and a special four-wheel vehicle will take you to just below the main crater. Admire the dramatic lava tracks and take in the breathtaking, bird’s eye view of Sicily and the sea . Afterwards return to Taormina for an afternoon at leisure.
> DAY 9: Taormina
Enjoy a day at leisure. You may want to visit the Greco-Roman Theatre, sign up for a cooking class, or charter a private yacht to explore the coastline. Ask your Leisure Travel Consultant about their favorite activities in Taormina.
> DAY 10: Departure
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Catania Airport to meet your international flight.
